FAQs about Recital Week
Is participating in the Recital mandatory?
No, it is not. However, for all classes excluding adult classes your tuition includes your recital costume so everyone is encouraged to attend. If you are not planning on performing, you need to notify your instructor ASAP.
Are the rehearsals mandatory?
Yes. The only way to put on a spectacular show is to make sure everyone feels confident and prepared. If you have an emergency please reach out to us at 716-373-3330.
What does my dancer wear to the rehearsals?
For the “Leotard rehearsals” dancers are to wear their regular dress code they would wear to class. For dress rehearsal dancers are to arrive to dress rehearsal in their first costume for the show.
Do I need to buy tickets?
Yes. If you need a seat you need a ticket. We do reserved seating and the only way to offer reserved seating is to provide tickets.
If a child does not need their own seat, then they do not need a ticket.
Where are the rehearsals?
ALL rehearsals and the recital are both at Coudersport High School. Regular classes ARE NOT held the week of the recital.
Will this be live-streamed?
Yes, all of our recitals are live-streamed on Youtube.
FAQ’s about Photo Day
When is photo day?
Photo Day is typically on a Weekday the week before or the week of the recital. We post the date of photo day in the studio calendar at the beginning of the season. Each class will get a group picture as well as individuals.
Is attending Photo Day required?
Photo day is not required, but these photos hang up in our lobby for the next dance year - so attendance is encouraged! Also, all dancers receive one free print from photo day.
What type of items can we purchase from photo day?
We use a program called www.photoday.io and you can purchase picture colleges, memory mates as well as magnets, keychains, water bottles, and more! We use a white background and the dancers always look amazing!
What is the hair/make-up and dress code for photo day?
The dancers will wear their costumes associated with the class for pictures, not the regular class dress code. You will get the costume sent home in a garment bag a week or so before photo day.
Recital Hair is a low bun with a middle part.
Recital make up is at the discretion of the dancer and parents - but we suggest blush, eyeshadow, red lipstick and mascara. Make up is not required, but it just helps not wash out the dancers face.
Where is photo day?
Photo day will be held at the Port Allegany Studio.
How long does photo day last?
Each class has a 15-minute window for photo day. During that time we will do individuals of all the dancers as well as a group pose. When pictures for that dance are complete you are free to leave!
